The First World War started in August 1914 and was fought between Germany, Austria and Turkey on one side and France, Russia, Italy, the United State of America and the British Empire and their allies on other. By 1918 the British Empire had ten million men under arms and had sustained over one million casualties. The Gurkha Brigade of Indian Army produced thirty – four battalions, and additional help came from Nepal which deployed ten thousand troops of its own Army in Sub- Continent of India, thereby releasing Indian Army troops for overseas services.

when the Second World War in 1939 – 1945. There were 1.7 millions members of the Commonwealth Forces who died during the two world wars. There were millions widows, wars injuries/casulties in the Commonwealth Allied hardships.

Prior to support them they organized the Remembrance Day/ Poppy Day.

The Remembrance /Poppy Day (a pap aver rheas) has been used since 1920 to commemorate soldiers who have died in War. They were first used in the United States to Commemorate soldiers who died in World War I. (1914 – 1918).

 Today they are mainly used in current and former Commonwealth States to commemorate their Servicemen and Women who have been killed since 1914.

In those States, Small artificial poppies are often worn on clothing on the Remembrance Day/ Armistice Day on 11 November and in the weeks before it. Poppy Wreaths are also often laid at War Memorials (Cenotaphs) British Legion (now Royal British Legion) was founded in 1921 by Earl Haig, formerly Commander in Chief in France to give practical help to the Ex. Servicemen and women, who returned home after the Wars and as a voice for the Ex. Services Community as merger of four organisasations the comrades of the Great Wars.
